WHAT IS NONVIOLENT
COMMUNICATION?
Nonviolent Communication, also
known as Compassionate
Communication, is a set of
tools designed to help foster
compassion and understanding
both within ourselves and
others. It focuses on clearly
expressing observations,
feelings, needs, and requests
to others in a way that avoids
the hidden violence of
judgmental language. These
tools can be used
therapeutically, in conflict
situations, or in everyday
conversation.
