ANNUAL UNLEARNING RACISM COUNCIL

Presented by

Hattie Carthan Community Market

COME TALK IT OUT, DRAW IT OUT and DRUM IT OUT!

Let us speak from the heart about how oppression and racism work in individuals and institutional systems. Come prepared to speak about limited food choices in low income communities, the need to liberate youths of color through nutrition, the dwindling number of black farmers in the U.S, and the high level of stress people of color face in their everyday existence. We will examine how various forms of racism manifest in our society broadly.

PLEASE BRING NOTEBOOKS, ANCESTRAL ITEMS, WATER, TISSUES, DRUMS AND SHAKERS.

*Community council is a traditional method of connecting and exploring individual and systemic issues. In community council people are encouraged to speak from the heart not the intellect. The symbolism of the circle establishes no hierarchy or dominance.
