ASSOCIATE STAFF ANALYST (12627)--NYC DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING PRESERVATION & DEVELOPMENT--Under the supervision of the Director of Special Projects for the Division of Tenant Resources (DTR), the selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the program design and implementation of the expanded/enhanced Section 8 Family Self Sufficiency Program (FSS). The establishment by the Mayor of the Commission for Economic Opportunity (CEO) represents a high profile effort launched by Mayor Bloomberg in January 2006 to address poverty in New York City. As part of its initial list of recommendations, the CEO recommended that the FSS Program be expanded and enhanced. The selected candidate will research and analyze FSS participant data, make recommendations for new or improved program areas, and develop partnerships with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to develop new ways to better serve participants and increase long-term involvement. She/he will be responsible for planning meetings for FSS clients; formulating program policy and procedures to be included in an Action Plan; creating and monitoring the work of an advisory Policy Board; coordinating with other agencies to expand the current pool of resources; and tracking program expansion and results. The selected candidate will represent the Director of Special Projects at internal and external meetings and projects, resolving issues of concern to tenants, landlords, the agency and the general public. She/he will also assist with public outreach programs, ensuring that accurate information is relayed to landlords, tenants, the general public, elected officials and other governmental entities. The selected candidate will also provide written and/or statistical analyses as needed, and produce relevant memoranda, analytical reports and spreadsheets and/or presentations summarizing findings. VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION--National Trust for Historic Preservation--The National Trust for Historic Preservation seeks a Vice President (VP) to lead and manage its Community Revitalization department. The Community Revitalization department is focused on the preservation, restoration, and improvement of older and historic neighborhoods and commercial districts in urban and rural communities throughout the United States. The VP will work closely with the Trust's President and Management team to support community revitalization goals and activities throughout the organization and the broader preservation movement. The VP works to expand the presence, impact, national reputation, and leadership position of the National Trust in community revitalization. The VP will lead and manage a department which provides financial, technical and informational resources to promote historic preservation as a tool to build vibrant communities, while protecting their distinct sense of place. The units of the department include the National Trust Main Street Center, the Strategic Services Office, and the non-profit National Trust Community Development Financial Institution subsidiary of which the VP serves as president, including the National Trust Loan Fund. The VP must establish credibility and effective working relationships to ensure strong planning and coordination with other parts of the Trust and key national, state, and local organizational partners.
