The long-overdue state budget is not the only battle with big stakes for New York City. Tenant advocates are pushing for a vote to repeal vacancy decontrol--a measure in state housing laws that removes apartments from rent regulation once they become vacant and their monthly rent exceeds $2,000.
On Friday, some advocates stepped up the pressure, descending on State Senator Jeffrey Klein's house off Pelham Parkway in the Bronx.
