The competition emphasized rapid deployment, flexibility and reusability, leading many entrants to explore variations on shipping containers. This finalist uses prefabricated, stackable units that can be located on roadsides or under highway overpasses, in parking lots, and in or near damaged areas. Different components of the residence (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom) can be pieced together to accommodate families of varying sizes.
