RBPMW Fellowship Show Part II: An Exhibition of work by 2013 Studio Immersion Project Fellows

Presented by Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop

We are delighted to welcome back our 2013 Studio Immersion Project fellows: Michael Eade, Susan Graham, Beth Gilfilen, Heather Hart, Amanda Keeley, JC Lenochan, and Dionis Ortiz. One year since their fellowship at RBPMW, these artists continue to integrate printmaking strategies into their painting, drawing, sculpture, and performance practices. While many continue to make prints, others have found surprising relevance in print to their work in other disciplines. Gilfilen compares the wiping motion of intaglio printing to the new mark-making that has appeared in her recent paintings. Through chine collé, Graham uses the subtle shades of paper to infuse her work with color. For Ortiz, the quick pace required of monoprint lends an electric dynamisms to his portraits and landscapes. Though the work is varied, these artists have shared the space of a summer and a studio. They have relied on one another to sponge stones and register paper. We think you'll find the conversations of the studio continue on the gallery walls.
