The featured choreographers were chosen by ETD after an open application process entered by many applicants. Grant monies were used to pay expenses incurred by these choreographers in developing the pieces being presented on April 22nd.
Eryc Taylor Dance, Inc. (ETD) presents EMERGENCE on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Rose Nagelberg Theater at Baruch College Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Ave, NYC, at 6pm and also at 8:30pm. EMERGENCE, an evening of dance, will feature original pieces choreographed by recipients of 2013 ETD grants for aspiring choreographers, as well as a piece by Eryc Taylor. Tickets are $25 ($15 for students and seniors) and are available at 866-811-4111 and online at www.theatermania.com. A gala reception ($100 ticket) will take place between shows and will include a meet and greet with the choreographers as well as an open wine bar.
Meryl Streep, Tina Fey, Patrick Stewart, Julianna Margulies, Kevin Kline, Billy Crudup, Esperanza Spalding, Carrie Mae Weems, Rosie Perez and others perform poems in celebration of the Academy of American Poets' 80th anniversary and to help raise funds to support the organization's education programs, including National Poetry Month.
High Energy Celtic Charisma! Burning Bridget Cleary makes their Big Apple debut at one of NY's coolest listening rooms! The band is fronted by Rose Baldino and Deirdre Lockman - a dynamic duo featuring tightly woven fiddle and vocal harmonies. Their music has been featured multiple times on NPR's "Thistle and Shamrock." In December 2013, Burning Bridget Cleary was nominated “Top Traditional Band in a Pub, Festival or Concert Setting” by the Irish Music Association.
