Teach For America
The Role We are seeking an entrepreneurially-minded data Specialist to join our Grassroots Activation team. Collaborating with the Manager and Managing Director, s/he will lead the strategic operations of our campaigns across the country, aimed at mobilizing wide scale support to the cause of educational equity. Using a technology-driven approach, the team experiments with new ways for engaging audiences, using calls to action to localize the problem and apply the force of mass participation against it - from fundraising on down.. The successful candidate will be a self- starter, comfortable with ambiguity and with an eye for seeing stories in data.
In addition to managing the systems that underpin our work, s/he will contribute to the design of targeted and viral campaigns, conduct original research, and forge partnerships across and outside the organization to continually refresh our tools and thinking.
If Teach For America's vision is that "One Day, All Children Will Have Access To An Excellent Education," our belief is that it will take a diverse and large scale movement to get there. The Grassroots Activation team is a key lever in this capacity, and the Specialist will play a hands-on role.
The Team The Growth, Development & Partnerships team mission is to build an ever-expanding and increasingly diverse movement of leaders in the private and public sectors committed to educational excellence and opportunity for all children. The Grassroots Activation team is focused on reaching new audiences with ideas for what's possible in the classroom. All kids-no matter where they live, how much money their parents make, or what their skin color is - deserve access to a great education. But in our country today, a significant achievement gap exists between low-income children and their wealthier peers. It's not easy to close this gap, but hundreds of proof points show that it's possible. It takes committed leaders in our classrooms today who will continue to fight for students tomorrow. Teach For America's mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by developing such leaders.
