Henry Street is governed by a 45-member Board of Directors and is supported by government grants and contracts, as well as foundation, corporate and individual support.
Bachelor's degree required
At least two (2) year experience in a Development Office, preferably with experience overseeing individual giving and major gift cultivation
Superior written and oral communication skills and attention to detail
At least two (2) year experience with scheduling and project management.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively with board members, staff, volunteers and donors/prospects
Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Donor Perfect and web applications
Knowledgeable about the role of technology and electronic communications in fundraising
Ability to manage multiple demands and deadlines
Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
Ability to multi-task and work independently in a hands on work environment
Work collaboratively with the Deputy Development Officer to develop and implement an overall individual and major gifts cultivation strategy, including growing individual gifts, cultivating/stewarding existing donors, and identifying prospective new major donors
Research, develop, and implement new individual donor cultivation strategies, such as innovative uses of technology and social media and new planned giving initiatives
Develop and write print and on-line cultivation materials and appeals for annual giving and coordinate design and production
Conduct research, manage donor lists, and assist in cultivation and solicitation strategies for a range of prospects
Prepare and provide support to Executive Director, Deputy Development Officer, and board members for solicitation
Assist in the production and management of cultivation, recognition, and fund-raising events
Work with the Database Associate to ensure maintenance of clear, complete and up-to-date records on contributions and grants
Maintain detailed records of prospects, donor conversations, acknowledgements, proposal submissions, reports and notes
Prepare periodic reports for presentation to Executive Director and the board
Monitor individual gift revenue/expenses and the budgets for cultivation events and activities
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
