NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA)
The Human Resources Administration (HRA) is a knowledge-based social services organization, which values the continued professional and personal growth of its 14,000 employees.
The Human Resources Administration's Office of Staff Resources seeks an experienced professional with prior management and supervisory experience to serve as the Training Director.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Workforce Development, the selected candidate will be responsible for driving initiatives, developing curriculum and creating supportive training tools and programs designed to increase learning and organizational effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: 1. A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area. 18 months of this experience must have been in an executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory capacity. Supervision must have included supervising staff performing professional work in the areas described above; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of professional experience in the areas described in "1" above, including the 18 months of executive, managerial, administrative or supervisory experience, as described in "1" above.
PREFERENCES: The ideal candidate will possess at least 5-8 years relevant experience in training and organizational development theory and practice; excellent creative, innovative and conceptual thinking abilities in order to bring new ideas to training methodologies; professional certifications in human resources, human performance improvement, learning design and development. Exceptional communication skills – verbal, written and active listening skills; including the ability to present to and engage large groups; high energy, enthusiastic, motivational training style; demonstrated ability to create learning solutions and content in support of a business need; proficiency with Microsoft Products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, SharePoint.
SALARY Commensurate with experience, up to $146,276
New York City Residency Required.
