Finance Coordinator (30-40 hours/week)

Summary of Position

The Finance Coordinator will work under the direct supervision of T.A.'s Finance Manager. This position offers room for growth and has the potential to grow into a full time salaried position after a year of service. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse and lively environment.

• Perform month end close procedures such as: o Prepare and maintain reconciliation schedules for balance sheet accounts (including prepaid, accrued expenses and deferred revenue), resolve issues, prepare journal entries o Reconcile bank and credit card accounts o Reconcile income between the database management system (Salesforce), merchant processing statements , bank statements, and the accounting system (QuickBooks Online)
• Process Accounts Receivable including recording, tracking, & ensuring collection
• Process Accounts Payable including printing & mailing payments, distributing 1099's, ensuring w-9's are received before payments are distributed to new vendors
• Process cash receipts including preparing deposits, recording journal entries, ensuring Finance receives documentation, resolving any issues as they arise
• Assist with TA's organizational budgeting process including creating & consolidating budget templates and entering into accounting software
• Assist with annual external audit including maintaining document files
• Track restricted gifts and releases from restriction
• Generate and distribute programmatic budget vs. Actual reports
• Other work as needed

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounting role (preferably in a nonprofit setting)
• Experience with QuickBooks Online & Sales Force is a plus
• Experience working with Microsoft software including Excel
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Detail oriented and extremely well organized
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Superior problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred

• Comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: starting at $15 per hour (depending on experience)
