The Cornerstone Community Center at Hope Gardens, Bushwick, is responsible for supervising our evening and Saturday community programming. Programs range from adult aerobics to ESL to educational childcare classes, Little Leaders, for children ages 4 and up. The Community Programs Manager ensures that the adults and youth in the community receive high quality services consistent with the mission of the Hope Gardens Community Center.

Responsibilities:
Major Duties:


• Act as the initial point of support for all evening staff: Aerobics Program, Fitness Room, ESL Instructors, Little Leaders, Teachers, Volunteers and all Co-locators
• Oversee all evening and Saturday programming, including special events
• Supports staff in the evenings and weekends to develop culturally competent curriculum
• Act as a liaison between the evening and daytime programming
• Maintain radio contact and perform walk-throughs of evening programming
• Provide information to community members about upcoming events
• Development promotional materials and assist in recruitment
• Collect activity rosters and ensure that all attendances have been turned in
• Ensure that all students have completed applications and assist those that do not
• Communicate changes in programming to staff members and participants
• Plan and organize community advisory board events for participants
• Increase parent participation by actively recruiting in the community, working with co-locators and identifying new service providers that are interested in utilizing space
• Meet with evening staff regularly and provide them with supervision
• Ensure that equipment is checked out, set up and returned properly
• Teach workshops for youth and parents as needed
• Draft incident reports as needed, and complete proper documentation as needed by NYCHA, DOH, and/or DYCD
• Attend supervision meetings and trainings as assigned
• Supervise teachers and youth during Out of School time holiday and summer camps
• Other responsibilities as assigned by program director

Qualifications:
Minimum two years of experience working in a supervisory capacity. Fluently bilingual in Spanish is necessary to communicate with community constituents. The schedule requires an evening and Saturday commitment. Experience working as teacher in a community center setting is ideal. Bachelor’s and Master’s level candidates are encouraged to apply.
