THIS IS A LONG-TERM TEMPORARY FUNDED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF UP TO 2 YEARS.
On June 3rd, Mayor Bloomberg announced the registration period for the NYC Build It Back program to allow homeowners, landlords and tenants in the five boroughs to apply for recovery assistance. New York City, through the Mayor's Office of Housing Recovery Operations (HRO), plans to allocate Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to address urgent infrastructure, housing and business needs in areas hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy. The staffing hired for this program is directly associated with this CDBG-DR grant funded initiative and is hired until the program ends.
The Director will be responsible for the following:
Managing multiple, simultaneous large scale, transformative business process, including but not limited to inspection and plan examination services, under aggressive deadlines, with the ability to define deliverables and milestones, conducting meetings (developing agendas, capturing meeting minutes and follow-up action items).
Producing exceptional professional project documentation including detailed project management documentation such as flow charts, scope documents, project schedules and executive level documentation such as PowerPoint presentations and one-page summary documents.
Supporting project efforts, including qualitative and quantitative analysis such as the review, analysis and documentation of business processes, and the ability to aggregate and present data in meaningful ways order to gauge a project's impact on agency operations.
Communicating the Agency's core mission and message to customers with the goal of improving public perception and clearly communicating initiatives as well as diffusing and/or diverting volatile issues and improving the Agency's public perception. Minimum Qual Requirements A valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer is required. In addition, candidates must have six (6) years of full-time paid experience in civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical or air pollution control engineering work, at least two (2) years of which shall have been as an administrative engineer.
