Assistant Bookkeeper -part time (20 hrs)
Cooper Square Mutual Housing Association
We are looking for someone with the ability to grow into this position. Someone who can be a prudent bookkeeper with a social conscience.
Assist in maintaining all financial records for the Mutual Housing Association.
Record General Ledger and other entries for all accounts.
When required make deposits, update records and reconcile all bank accounts.
Prepare vouchers, and write checks for all bills.
Assist in payroll preparation, including taxes, etc.
Track all purchase orders ensuring that proper procedures are being followed. Update all vendor files.
Assist in preparing all requests for reimbursement and/or draw down funds from City or other sources.
Assist in preparation of reports, including Operating, Reserve Funds and other expense reports, as required by governmental sources, the MHA Board and other funding sources.
Reports to: Fiscal Manager, and Executive Director
Knowledge of accounting and basic bookkeeping skills. Computer literate. Knowledge of accounting software, data bases and property management software applications. Flexible, well-organized and able to think quickly and work in a non-profit environment.
At least two years of college, with accounting background.
Bilingual ability, both written and spoken of English/Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) a plus.
