Fifth Avenue Committee
Single Stop offers free, one-on-one confidential counseling to FAC, BWI and NHN beneficiaries about public benefits; provides referrals to on-site financial coaching, legal services and tax preparation services; and provides referrals to a wide range of supportive services available in New York City. •Maintain a caseload of 50 active cases, including Eviction Prevention cases, conducting intake, assessment and follow-up for Single Stop participants and facilitating referrals to partner agencies and internal and external services and benefits.
•Process at least two benefit applications each week utilizing FAC Single Stop’s POS benefit application system.
•Document all participant contact, referrals, and outcomes in computer database in a timely and accurate manner
•Staff and assist in annual on-site tax preparation program as requested by Program Director.
•Serve as liaison to FAC and/or BWI units, and/or to external service partners as requested by Program Director.
•Assist in gathering information for funder and other reports as needed.
•Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
•Demonstrated relevant experience for a minimum of 1 year; experience providing direct services preferred.
•Familiarity with NYC Public Benefits System a plus.
•Organized with excellent communication and computer skills.
•Reliable and able to collaborate with, and serve, a diverse range of individuals.
•Ability to work some evening and/or weekend hours.
•Bachelor’s degree preferred.
•Commitment to FAC’s mission.
