The Metropolitan Museum of Art seeks a Maintainer in the Rigging Shop who will be responsible for moving artwork within the Museum, moving furniture and equipment, and maintaining equipment assigned to the shop.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for transporting artwork for the Museum
Moving furniture and equipment
Maintaining equipment assigned to shop
Other related duties
Requirements and Qualifications: Experience and Skills:
Must be able to lift heavy objects
2-3 years art handling experience preferred
Ability to maintain and operate equipment assigned to shop
Knowledge and Education:
High School or Trade School diploma or GED
Knowledge of art handling
The current salary is $39,177 per annum. After 1 years and 3 years of service, the salary increases to $41,859 and $51,577 respectively. In addition, incumbents will receive longevity increases.
