CABS Home Attendants Service
Ellery Court Senior Housing, a non profit housing development company, seeks a service coordinator to serve residents of its housing development at 339 Ellery Street, Brooklyn, N.Y.
The Service Coordinator assists building residents and their families who have requested assistance in enhancing the quality of their daily lives and in accessing needed services. The position is effective immediately. Duties include but are not limited to conducting assessments, helping residents build informal support networks, developing referral partnerships, monitoring provision of services, facilitating tenant meetings and developing educational and social activities.
The successful candidate will have a BA in social work or human services with a minimum of two years experience in provision of social services. An AS degree or high school diploma or GED with six years as a case worker providing social services to seniors would also be acceptable. A thorough knowledge of entitlements and benefits, excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to meeting needs of the elderly are required. Must have demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations. Bilingual Spanish/English or Chinese/English a plus. Salary $36,000 to $38,000/ year plus benefits
