GENERAL DUTIES Develops, implements, and oversees College-wide marketing plans to achieve institutional goals. - Designs and executes a comprehensive strategic plan for marketing, advertising and communications - Develops overall advertising and media strategies to achieve image, awareness, enrollment, recruiting, and/or fundraising goals - Provide professional and managerial oversight of a broad range of marketing programs and tools, including digital, print, mail, broadcast, social networking, and other media - Manages and develops internal staff and external resources - Develops and analyzes key metrics of marketing effectiveness, as well as budgets and costs related to marketing programs and campaigns - Performs related duties as assigned.
CONTRACT TITLE Higher Education Officer
CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION Reporting to the Professional School Senior Associate Dean for Institutional Advancement, the Communications & Marketing Director manages all Law School communications and public relations efforts, including those of the Development Office, Office of Alumni Affairs, Admissions Office, External Affairs Office, Student Services, Main Street Legal Services, the Law School Foundation, and the Community Legal Resource Network. Serves as the chief spokesperson representing the Law School in local, regional, and national media. Establishes goals and objectives consistent with the Law School's public interest mission and works collaboratively with the Senior Associate Dean and other senior administrators. The Director shares responsibility with the other senior officers for setting goals and strategies to improve the Law School's public image to the legal community, the public interest community, and beyond. The Director will work closely with the Dean's Office and will reach out to students, faculty and staff to remain abreast of Law School activities and to facilitate effective communications among the key constituencies and supporters of the Law School. Develops and maintains comprehensive press, public relations, and internal communication strategies. Oversees and manages the content of the Law School website and production of Law School publications, brochures, catalogs, and press releases. Develops and implements campaigns to foster awareness of the Law School and its graduates. This job may include evening and weekend duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS B.A. in journalism, communications, or other relevant field and at least eight years of related experience required. Master's degree in relevant field preferred and may substitute for up to two years of the required experience. The successful candidate will have superlative written and oral communication skills, strong computer skills, and familiarity with database and desktop publishing applications. S/he will have strong organizational and project management skills, a proven track record managing multiple tasks and projects, excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, and the ability to work in a culturally diverse environment. Experience in a higher educational institution preferred. Expertise in photography or other graphic arts also preferred.
COMPENSATION $68,803 - $106,071; commensurate with qualification and experience.
