Senior Program Officer

Single Stop USA

Who We Want:

Single Stop USA seeks to hire a Senior Program Officer with significant asset building experience who will be responsible for working on the roll- out, delivery and management of free tax preparation and financial education/counseling of the Single Stop USA program. The Senior Program Officer will be a key part of Single Stop's effort to scale our national programs. She will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

*Play a lead role in developing strategies for service delivery of free tax preparation, financial counseling nationwide
*Assist with measuring performance of national tax providers through tracking outcomes and work to ensure that tax providers and sites meet their goals
*Provide programmatic support, training and technical assistance to tax providers
*Work to improve the success of collocated tax/benefits sites
*Work to ensure successful benefits counseling at tax sites
*Support the successful implementation of the tax tab for data sharing and tracking for Single Stop’s evaluation purposes
*Collect, analyze and report on tax data, including by provider, by site and with demographic data Serve as a key point of contact for national tax and financial providers
*Manage tax and financial contracts and grant disbursements
*Coordinate and conduct site visits and regular check-ins
*Assist with the implementation of service learning tax programs at additional campuses
*Implement and refine new products and approaches to college partners managing tax providers
*Work with national programs staff to develop best practices on cross-referrals and integration between Single Stop sites and service providers
*Participate in local, state and national coalitions to advocate for low-income taxpayer credits and policy improvements
*With the training department, closely oversee the implementation, testing and revision of the Single Stop financial education product
*Work with the evaluation department to come up with metrics and minimum standards for multiple delivery mechanisms for financial counseling and education
*Lead Single Stop’s interaction with financial capability community and identify opportunities to bring innovative financial products and educational tools to Single Stop clients.
*Facilitate best practice sharing amongst sites and providers and propose improved service suggestions
*Play in active role in new site launches
*As needed, take primary responsibility for overall management of a community based or community college site
*Assist with general site management, reviewing of related products and planning events
*Assist with the preparation of grant reports
*Maintain program files and other documents and records
*Other duties as assigned
*Report to Associate Director of Tax Services and National Programs


*Commitment to Single Stop USA's mission.
*Master's degree in social work, management or public administration or other related field.
*3-5 years of work experience, preferably at a nonprofit or a related field. Past experience in asset building organizations is expected.
*Experience and/or commitment to working with low- income families and individuals.
*Experience working with data and providing quantitative analysis.
*Ability to work on a team and to also independently establish priorities.
*Excellent interpersonal skills; collegial, energetic, able to develop productive relationships with colleagues, grantees and others who contribute to program development and management. Works well with and welcomes opportunities to work across diverse cultures.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and complete multiple task requirements simultaneously.
*Must be highly organized and detail-oriented.
*Must have computer software skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
*Knowledge of public benefits, tax credits and financial counseling models, and experience facilitating the delivery of public benefits is a plus.
