Carroll Gardens Association, Inc. is searching for an Urban Planner who will build a long-term career with the organization. Carroll Gardens Association, Inc. (CGA) is a 43-year old nonprofit organization with the mission of fostering a community where residents and families of all income levels in Brooklyn's neighborhoods can live, work, and thrive. The organization fulfills this mission by preserving and developing affordable housing, enforcing quality housing management practices, promoting small business economic development, and providing and linking residents to social services and resources to improve the quality of their lives.

Responsibilities:
The Urban Planner will assume the full-time position of Program & Planning Coordinator and undertake the following tasks:
• Coordinate workshops and implementation of the Small Business Services Program.
• Coordinate workshops and implementation of the Housing Education and Counseling Program.
• Serve as Lead for the CGA Resiliency Program.
• Organize and meet regularly with Columbia Waterfront District Merchants Association.
• Organize and coordinate the Columbia Waterfront Fall Festival.
• Organize and coordinate the Annual Toy Drive and Columbia Waterfront Tree Lighting event.
• Organize and coordinate the Annual CGA Health Fair.
• Conduct zoning studies for CGA development sites.
• Serve as Project Manager for the Red Hook Affordable Housing Community Visioning.
• Conduct community outreach and build alliances with other community-based organizations.
• Assist the Executive Director in grant writing.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Urban Planning.
• Minimum of 2 years to 5 years of experience in Planning, Housing and Community Development, or Economic Development.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• GIS and graphic skills a plus.
• Preferably Brooklyn resident; familiarity with Red Hook, Columbia Waterfront, Carroll Gardens, Gowanus, and surrounding neighborhoods a plus.
• Availability to attend evening meetings and occasional weekends.

Salary will depend on experience. Health insurance and other benefits will be provided after successful completion of orientation period.
