Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern CA
Leadership Search Partners is very pleased to be working with the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California (NPH) to conduct the search for their next Executive Director. The lack of affordable housing in major metropolitan areas is one of California's most critical public issues. NPH is the voice of those who support, build and finance affordable housing in Northern California. NPH plays two important roles - building the internal capacity of organizations in the field, and improving the external environment for affordable housing. With 750 members representing all nine counties of the Bay Area, NPH encompasses the spectrum of the affordable housing field. NPH has achieved major advances in the field of affordable housing at the local, regional and statewide level, and is recognized nationally as a highly effective advocacy group and capacity builder. The new Executive Director will take the helm at an exciting time for NPH. The board and staff recently created a bold new vision and strategic plan that calls for NPH to play a leadership role in building catalytic, broad-based coalitions with partners in the environmental, health, transportation and education sectors. The plan also mandates strengthening political capital in order to play a leading role in securing new permanent sources for funding affordable housing as a key element of healthy, equitable, sustainable communities. The Board of Directors is seeking a strategic leader with a passion for social equity and a keen understanding of the critical role of nonprofit affordable housing as part of a larger regional strategy. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with political acumen and in-depth knowledge of how to build political capital and public will. A strong collaborator, they will see this job as an opportunity to lead the nonprofit sector in one of the most serious public policy issue affecting Northern Californians today.
