Transformational Coach - Youth
St. Nicks Alliance
St. Nicks Alliance, a North Brooklyn community based organization, seeks an energetic, inspiring and experienced manager to serve as a full-time Transformational Coach - Youth for the NABE 3.0 initiative. NABE 3.0 is an exciting new initiative that brings together St. Nicks Alliance's outcomes driven work in employment, education and affordable housing to a targeted area in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to help children, adults and families overcome the barriers of poverty.
The Transformational Coach will provide case management support to a cohort of 25 to 30 children and their families in grades K to 5 within a limited number of schools and housing developments. The program will serve children experiencing any number of barriers that are affecting their school attendance and academic performance. Services can include family supports, advocacy, youth work, counseling, and referrals with close monitoring. S/he will be engaged in ongoing consultation and in collaboration with school staff as well as the larger NABE 3.0 team.
The Transformational Coach is an invested individual who will inspire, motivate and guide clients towards NABE 3.0 outcomes and goals and specifically, educational success for this cohort of children. S/he will report to the Deputy Executive Director for St. Nicks Alliance.
This position is competitive in salary and includes benefits after a probationary period.
A Master Degree in Social Work, Education or related field with 3-5 years of job related experience. Prior experience providing case management services and/or counseling. Knowledge of youth development practice. Driven to help transform lives and desire to meet outcomes. Excellent documentation, organizational, verbal, motivational and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work as part of a team, multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
