Education Coordinator / Afterschool Program
Long Island University/Brooklyn Campus
The Education Coordinator will report to the Director of the FUN After School Program. The Coordinator will lead a group of school-age children; develop and implement curriculum; manage the homework help program; supervise interns; ensure a safe and nurturing environment; assist with daily program operations; plan special events and workshops; effectively communicate with parents; utilize technology; attend required trainings and comply with program licensing requirements.
This position is 24 hours per week – Monday – Friday 2:45 pm to 8:45 pm and runs from August 15, 2014 through May 31, 2015.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, the Arts or a related field. Strong work ethic and professional values; effective communicator; experience in community-building; minimum five years’ experience leading and supervising groups of school-age children.
