NLIRH seeks a committed individual who is passionate about women's issues for the new, full-time Database Manager position. This role will be central to supporting NLIRH's efforts to expand our national reach, engage our supporters, and utilize data to continually inform and improve our work. Reporting to the Director of Development and working closely with the Deputy Director, the Database Manager works to oversee and maintain the integrity and value of NLIRH's data, and to develop solutions to address future data needs as required. They will also play an integral role in NLIRH's Development department, identifying, qualifying, and researching donor prospects and supporting the organization's cultivation process, especially to grow individual giving. In addition to routine database management, the candidate will also provide support during transitional periods when database implementations or upgrades take place. The Database Manager will work primarily in the Salesforce platform (including integrated software, such as Soapbox, CQ Roll Call Engage, and Radian 6), and should have a strong knowledge of data management/CRM systems in general, with a keen interest in expanding their knowledge and skillset as internal systems and practices evolve. The Database Manager will work cross-departmentally to manage, report, support, and train about the database systems that enable NLIRH's goals to be met.

Responsibilities:
Administration (40%):
•Management of NLIRH data in Salesforce, including: maintaining, documenting and monitoring protocols for accurate data-entry and data management.
•Strategically segment constituents for email marketing, appeals, actions and gifts.
•Manage special event registrations, including donor tracking, on-site event registration, and online actions.
•Perform periodic data enhancement and research new sources for data enrichment.
•Continually seek to both utilize and optimize the capabilities of Salesforce and any relevant and online integration system. Includes testing, training and monitoring new functionality.
•Ensure data integrity through data validation rules, workflow, and regular de-duping, resolution of invalid addresses and address changes, clean up procedure and technical problem solving.

Reporting and Analysis (20%):
•Design Salesforce reports and dashboards to meet both organizational and office needs.
•Access, evaluate, merge, format, and analyze large datasets from internal and external sources to inform the organization's program directions and measure the quality and fidelity of our work.
•Use these data sets to identify, synthesize, and interpret trends in implementation and impact of NLIRH’s programs by a variety of end-users, and communicate the results of this work to staff members, funders, and external audiences.
•Apply design and data analysis techniques to organize the presentation of data in visually innovative ways in order to make it easier to understand, insightful, and actionable.
•Respond to data inquiries from staff and funders in a clear, concise accurate and timely manner. Development Research, Cultivation and Stewardship (30%)
•Ensure that all meeting notes and other relevant donor data is entered into Salesforce in a timely and accurate manner
•Serve as an active prospect identifier, targeting prospects for personal visits and moving annual donors through the donor pyramid into the next giving level, and utilizing wealth screening systems including iwave PRO.
•Make creative connections between and among people, events, programs, and their associated circles.
•Oversee the daily operation of the fundraising database (Salesforce), tracking gift/financial and biographical information on friends, donors and reconciliation for all donor transactions. Training and Documentation (10%):
•Construct database protocols and guidelines for staff.
•Work with the Deputy Director to train staff on their responsibilities for the maintenance of data in Salesforce.
•Provide ongoing support to staff: Develop training plans, materials, and documentation for Salesforce users, keep materials up-to-date, and coordinate new-user and ongoing training sessions across the departments.
•Monitor cross-department user adoption rates and respond as needed (additional training sessions, communication, modifications, or other resources) to improve overall quality.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Bachelors' Degree preferred.
• 2-3 years' experience with databases including familiarity with building queries, exports, and reports.
• 1-3 years of experience utilizing Salesforce.com CRM or a similar system is required, with experience using DemandTools software as plus.
• Hyper attention to detail.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly.
• Creative analytical thinker with strong research skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects, be flexible and meet deadlines, with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• Proficient in data manipulation, strong Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team player, while recognizing the nature of a small nonprofit.
• Eagerness to expand skill set to include Salesforce.com and other information systems used by NLIRH.
• Candidates must have knowledge and commitment to reproductive health and rights and/or social justice issues.
