Northeast Bronx Housing & Community Development organization is seeking a bright, energetic and experienced tenant/community organizer for a full time position. Primary duties include: conduct outreach to tenants in buildings, hold building meetings, survey apartments for outstanding maintenance issues and proper rental practices and follow up with the landlord, City & State agencies and pursue legal recourse as necessary, facilitate workshops relevant to housing rights and responsibilities, individual tenant counseling and benefits assistance and eviction prevention, fully document activities in compliance with funders.
Must have strong negotiating skills, be able to represent the organization to electeds, community leaders and City and State funders, be fluent in Spanish, computer literate and enjoy working in a fast paced, positive environment.
Must be fluent in Spanish, Possess college degree
