New York State Assembly
Progressive Manhattan New York State Assemblymember is recruiting applicants for the position of Community Liaison/Scheduler.
Duties: The Community Liaison serves as the Assemblymember's chief representative in the district. These duties include attending meetings, responding to community issues, and initiating outreach to an extensive network of community based organizations. The Community Liaison works with constituents to address individual concerns by coordinating with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and community groups.
Scheduling duties include maintaining the Assemblymember's daily schedule, arranging meetings, obtaining thorough descriptions and details for events and meetings, and ensuring briefing materials are readily available for the Assemblymember as appropriate.
Qualifications: A college degree is required. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, strong writing skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The applicant should be highly organized, patient, thorough, demonstrate a committed work ethic, including the willingness to work some weekends, and eager to work as part of a team. This is an ideal position for the candidate looking to gain experience in New York State government.
