Position Overview: The Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing the daily activities of a closely-knit business development team. S/he will be directly engaged in most aspects related to business development strategy formation and market research, resource development and investor relations, new product development, goal setting, performance monitoring and reporting. The Business Development Manager will engage in activities to increase loan referrals and promote new community development lending opportunities with a focus on the New York City market. S/he will develop target lists, prepare and lead presentations, coordinate the development of marketing and communications materials, and track local business development outcomes.

Responsibilities: Business Development/New Product Development:
• Research new community development lending opportunities within targeted neighborhoods and populations.
• Coordinate the development of marketing materials to help promote Seedco Financial's loan services and products and technical assistance resources to prospective borrowers, community organizations, banks and government agencies.
• Track business development and lending goals for all markets and assist team to monitor staff performance.
• Assist in development and documentation of internal policies, procedures and guidelines for all loan products and related programs.
• Perform the ongoing assessment of pre-defined measures of team productivity and external outcomes.
• Answer questions and assist with fielding general inquiries from prospective funders, referral partners, and clients.
• Promote a positive attitude and team approach to customer relationships

Investor Relations:
• Participate in regular external relations with creditors and other types of funders.
• Monitor investor reporting and other compliance-related requirements and identify potential issues for team to address.
• Develop presentations and performance reports for different investor segments.
• Coordinate responses to creditor reviews and other due diligence activities.

Internal Coordination:
• Structure processes to ensure that processing of client referrals is coordinated closely with our team of loan officers.
• Coordinate business development-related activities with management of functional support areas, including marketing/communications, legal, finance and IT.
• Participate in regular meetings with Managing Directors of Seedco Financial's field offices in Louisiana and Alabama.
• Report directly to the Chief Business Development Officer.
• Participate in special projects designated by immediate supervisor and executive management.

Qualification/Skills:
• B.S/B.A required, MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of professional work experience.
• Experience working within the financial services industry is a plus. Sales and/or business development experience a plus.
• Knowledge of local market including small businesses, financial institutions, local government agencies, and community organizations; and an understanding of local priorities, opportunities and challenges.
• Superior analytical skills required, including strong financial skills and ability to develop and interpret financial statements applied to business accounting and finance principles.
• Proficient in Windows based software.
• Must be flexible, tenacious, and exhibit a positive attitude.
• Ability to meet performance goals on a monthly basis. Compensation: Salary depending on background and experience. Full benefits package. EEO employer.
