Director of Social Services
Lantern Community Services
The Director of Social Services will be responsible for overseeing multiple congregate and scattered-site supportive housing sites. LCS is opening new programs and expanding its programmatic expertise; the Director of Social Services will facilitate this growth. The Director of Social Services will supervise Program Directors, implement new initiatives to the sites, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and assist in strengthening internal systems within Lantern Community Services. The Director of Social Services will report to the Deputy Director of Community Services. This is an exempt position.
•Provide clinical supervision to Program Directors;
•Ensure Program Directors understand, use and adhere to annual budgets;
•Assist Program Directors in building and maintaining an effective working relationship with their team, property management staff, community boards, neighbors and government officials;
•Ensure clinical, financial and personnel policies are instituted and followed at the program sites;
•Initiate transitional plan when there is a vacancy at the Director level and hire Program Directors;
•Participate in setting agency-wide performance goals and ensure goals are on target to be met;
•Work closely with Deputy Director of Community Services and COO in new program design,rent up and on-going service provision;
•Represent LCS at community meetings and other related functions;
•Provide clinical supervision to LMSWs, as assigned;
•Assess organizational needs, identify areas for growth and improvement and be a proactive participant in the growth of the organization;
•Maintain current, expert knowledge of best practices to conduct trainings and draft organizational materials; and
•Other job-related duties as assigned.
•Experience working with populations in the following housing portfolios: HIV+/AIDS, chronically homeless,mentally ill, families, youth aging out of foster care, substance abusers, low income
•5 or more years as a Director of supportive housing or other clinically relevant program(s)
•Proven ability to build cohesive teams, implement new initiatives, provide clinical supervision and promote client independence.
•Very strong interpersonal and communications skills, including excellent writing ability, demonstrated organizational skills, outstanding judgment, and the ability to perform complex tasks with limited supervision.
