The Post Graduate Center for Mental Health, a community based-mental health service provider throughout the 5 boroughs has partnered with national nonprofit search firm People & Systems to source candidates for their new Director of Property Management position.
TITLE: Director of Property Management
OPPORTUNITY: This is a great new opportunity for a property management professional with a strong background in construction/maintenance to advance his/her career. As the organization's first Director of Property management, you will lead the effort to acquire, rehabilitate and develop new residences as well as overseeing existing facility operations (working closely with existing program and building superintendent staff). If you are seeking a "hands-on" position and possess exemplary customer service and big picture planning experience in a property management environment, this position could be your next career move.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Property Management is a high-level employee with responsibility for the financial stability of 10+ residential properties throughout the City. In this role you will oversee the entire maintenance and repair program for various residences by participating in the selection of contract services, vendor negotiation of service agreements and day-today monitoring of vendor performance. You will ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, prepare budgets and produce progress reports. Major areas of responsibility also include compliance with tax credits and building codes, interfacing with government entities, managing the maintenance operations of the facilities and the overall management of the apartments within the residences.
Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, construction or a related field (master’s degree preferred) and 4+ years of experience in property management (2 years at the manager/director level preferably within the nonprofit sector). Experience with issues related to budget development, construction, leasing management, maintenance oversight and compliance with governmental regulations are a must. A valid New York driver's license and solid driving record is also required.
