Coalition Field Director Position
New York Communities for Change (NYCC)
Description
The Coalition Field Director Position will be responsible for helping to coordinate and drive field campaigns with a large coalition of State & Citywide community organizations. The position will be focused around key issues such as adequate and equitable funding for education, Housing, corporate tax and budget accountability.
Responsibilities:
The Community Field Director will report to the Executive Director and coordinate with community organizations and key allies on implementing strategy and driving on the ground work all across the state.
Qualifications:
Skills Needed: • At least 5 years of proven lead level Organizing experience in labor, community, student or political organizations or campaigns is required • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (listening, speaking, and writing) • Commitment to the social justice movement • Ability to informs, coordinate and follow up on with coalition partners through meetings and one on one conversation. • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to work under pressure and be detailed orientated • Can write long term plan that details, goals and sets benchmarks • Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends
