Position Overview: Under the direction of the President, the Vice President directs and manages staff, sets and achieves performance goals, and monitors the resource development, fundraising and policy work of all offices across Seedco Financial's service area. The VP partners with Seedco Financial's senior management team to define and achieve the organization's resource development, fundraising and policy goals. He/she ensures that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of Seedco Financial.

Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership and management of all development and fundraising efforts.
• Writes annual CDFI/FA grant application;
• Prepares long- and short-term development plans in conjunction with senior management and the Board;
• Identifies and cultivates funding relationships with individuals and major entities. Increases donor support by soliciting new major funders and securing increased support from existing major funders;
• Works closely with senior management to ensure effective, continuing stewardship of all funders and investors. Supports business development's work to raise debt from investors;
• Manages the creation and submission of proposals and concept papers;
• Develops a framework for engaging individual donors with the organization's work;
• Ensures coordination and uniform approaches to program development across the organization's offices;
• Ensures that all funders receive timely reports of the impact of their support;
• Partners, develops and executes strategies with other Managing Directors to achieve overall organizational business goals and objectives;
• Measures overall results against defined success measurements. Applies policies, practices and procedures. Makes operating decisions needed to achieve business results;
• Develops and manages the budget process for the Program Development and Policy division;
• Defines and develops staff member roles, responsibilities and accountabilities;
• Selects, coaches, and retains qualified staff. Provides training and development opportunities where needed;
• Manages the research and writing of major policy reports;
• Monitors policy trends at local and national levels that impact the organization's work and mission;
• Engages with government agencies and the offices of elected officials to influence policy in coordination with industry associations; and
• Drafts comment letters for federal agencies and writes testimony or speeches.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required. Masters preferred;
• Minimum of 7 to10 years of management/leadership experience in fundraising, resource development, and managing public and private sector donor relationships;
• Successful track record in fundraising for a large-scale community economic development entity;
• Direct experience in government or in non-profit organizations working to influence policy is a plus;
• Proficient knowledge of CDFIs, government and non-profit operations;
• Good working knowledge of administration functions of a lending operation;
• Skilled in securing public and private sector funding;
• Excellent demonstrated writing, research and analytical skills required;
• Able to initiate and manage multiple projects;
• Proven ability to lead and manage in a matrix structure;
• Coach and guide staff toward improved performance. Encourage decision making at the lowest competent level;
• Inspire innovation and continuous quality improvement; and
• Serve as a positive role model to staff members.
