Position Overview: Under the supervision/direction of the Site Coordinator, the Job Readiness Instructor will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the program's job readiness services for Cash Assistance recipients. This position is intended to provide program participants with the training and resources they need to acquire basic employability training to be competitive in the job market. This individual is responsible for providing instruction, computer skills and employment guidance to participants in accordance with the contract requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver daily job readiness classes focused on interview preparation, resume and cover letter writing, computer and other skills, time management, workplace ethic, and other key factors for employability; engage participants in interactive workshops and discussions;
• Provide one-on-one job readiness assessment and counseling; hold office hours and maintain records of participant data, progress and reports; make necessary data entry and case notes in required program systems and databases;
• Coordinate the job search activities of participants; guide students in improving job seeking, job retention and computer skills;
• Lead group discussions related to job search activities to monitor participant progress and to ensure achievement of employment;
• Work closely with Case Managers and Job Developers to understand the needs of each participant and to develop job placement strategies;
• Keep abreast of trends in the labor market and workplace literacy; and
• Assist with timekeeping, data entry and other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma required; some college or bachelor's degree strongly preferred;
• At least 3-4 years direct service and/or adult teaching experience required;
• Bilingual Spanish/English required;
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills;
• Ability to engage large groups with diverse populations;
• Excellent computer skills;
• History of positive working relationships with diverse groups and individuals; and
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
