Responsibilities:
The Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) seeks an experienced attorney to serve as Supervisor of the Legal Enforcement Unit. The Supervisor of the Legal Enforcement Unit will be responsible for overseeing the FDNY’s legal enforcement operations, including the prosecution of violations at the Environmental Control Board (ECB) and the NYC Criminal Court. Duties will include coordination of legal enforcement issues with the ECB, the NYC Criminal Court, the NYC Law Department, other City agencies, and FDNY bureaus. S/he will supervise the FDNY’s ECB and Criminal Court representatives, and perform such other work of the Bureau of Legal Affairs as may be designated by the Counsel or Deputy Counsel of the FDNY.
Qualifications:
Preferred Skills: Familiarity with code enforcement issues and procedures. Excellent writing skills and legal judgment. Good computer skills. The ability to work with and/or supervise legal and non-legal staff.
NYC Residency required within 90 days of appointment.
