The Children's Health Fund
The Children's Health Fund is a national non-profit organization supporting unique primary care programs for medically underserved children and families.
We are seeking a full-time Programmer to participate in our data mining, data management, and reporting activities. He/She is responsible for developing reports and related tools critical to our organization’s research and assessment activities. The Programmer also recommends and participates in the development of innovative data access tools and models to support CHF’s partner program’s across the United States. The position reports to the Chief Information Officer and is part of the Information Systems & Technology Group (IS&T) and the Center for Community health technology (CCHT).
The Programmer manages day-to-day data mining and related data reporting activities; maintains relations and works collaboratively with CHF’s research and outcomes /assessment teams to meet project reporting needs; executes software development in support of related CHF goals; and participates in departmental decision-making and day-to-day operations and management activities.
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree and at least 2 years professional experience working with databases, software development, and understanding end-user needs. Experience with health care environments is helpful. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience with PHP, Perl, SQL, open source operating systems (e.g., Linux) and database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Candidate must possess excellent communications skills, especially when explaining sophisticated technical concepts to end-users. Candidate must have the capacity to work independently, as well as part of a team.
