Assist CFO in meeting overall financial and financial reporting objectives, as well as day to day accounting requirements; supervising the accounts payable and receivable functions; monthly closings; monthly budget maintenance and comparison to actual results; assist CFO with overseeing annual audit; preparing periodic and ad-hoc financial reports; Experience with Peachtree and Quickbooks is a plus. Experience with Non-Profit Accounting is also a plus.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following (other duties may be assigned): Supervision of Staff Accountant AR/AP/ Purchasing and Third Party Staff; Review invoice (purchase requests) and data entry for accuracy
Maintain accurate chart of accounts; Prepare and post or review journal entries, including payroll postings; Manage daily cash position reports and prepare periodic cash flow forecasts; Prepare or review bank reconciliations; Review/ Research monthly Budget-To-Actual results; Prepare all periodic internal and external financial analyses and reports; Prepare Financial Statements; Annual audit coordination & oversight Annual budget coordination & oversight Other projects and departmental assistance as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:
A successful candidate will possess the following: MBA / CPA preferred; At least eight years of relevant accounting experience with three years in a non-profit setting; Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and A-133 audit procedures; Experience with NYS OASAS Reporting a plus; Strong analytical and practical problem solving skills; Experience supervising two or more staff positions; Ability to perform duties accurately and timely Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: A successful candidate will possess the following: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
