Under the leadership of Columbia Health Chief of Administration, the Associate Director, Insurance Program and Immunization Compliance, provides strategic programmatic leadership for the Insurance and Immunization Compliance Programs. This position manages policy development and program planning as well as assesses effects of student medical insurance plans and monitor trends in healthcare delivery, industry practices, and government standards and policies. Oversees, overall effectiveness of insurance and immunization programs operations including but not limited to: student enrollment and waiver requests processing; transmittal of enrollment data to third-party administrator; establishes service standards and oversees process design and implementation; identifies protocols and standards for performance of insurance and immunization staff; manages collection and analysis of activity and workload data and supervises preparation of activity reports; provides primary liaison with senior account personnel for the third-party insurance plan administrator for establishing operating procedures and resolving problems; serves as senior-level liaison with Student Financial Services and Student Information Systems for coordination of operating procedures that cross division boundaries; supervises collection and analysis of data on insurance program participation and utilization of the insurance plan; prepares and presents recommended policy changes and proposals for modification of insurance plan benefits to meet emerging needs or requirements; collaborates with Communications staff on development and implementation of strategies for communicating insurance information to students, parents, and other university administrators, and student affairs staff; supervises Insurance Program in planning content development and participates in planning and presentation of Columbia Health, Health Insurance Plans and provides liaison and conducts orientation activities with respective schools and departments; oversees key program functions in support of immunization compliance; actively monitors and evaluate data collection to track and ensure immunization compliance with medical standards and federal regulations.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Requires a minimum of five (5) years related experience. Expertise in directing functions and systems related to health insurance and immunization programs. Management experience in health care, or university setting preferred. Must possess superior written and oral communication skills, and have a demonstrated ability to present information to a variety of audiences. Strong evidence of administrative/supervisory experience.
