Description
Program Description: WHEDco was selected by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) to be the Enrollment Agency, in the Bronx, responsible for evaluating and determining eligibility for legally exempt child care providers. All legally exempt child care providers must be evaluated to ensure they meet mandatory health and safety requirements adopted by OCFS. WHEDco staff will be out-stationed at five New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) Job Centers, throughout the Bronx, where parents seeking work and/or education but who also need child care will immediately have their chosen legally exempt provider assessed.

WHEDco will work in collaboration with New York City's HRA and the Administration for Children Services (ACS) to meet the project's objectives of expediting the enrollment process, focusing on health and safety standards, and increasing the overall quality of services provided to children as part of a continuum of care. Provider eligibility is determined by completed attestations assuring basic health and safety minimal standards; random sampling of home visits, and Criminal Background and Child Abuse and Sex Registry checks.

In addition, WHEDco will make available to providers resources such as: referrals to training and offer enrollment opportunities to the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Home-based Childcare Services the Enrollment Project Coordinator will coordinate and supervise the daily operations of the enrollment process of all legally-exempt child care providers in New York City.

Responsibilities:
Supervise all Enrollment Specialists, and Clerical Support personnel including staff stationed at HRA Job Centers as well as those at other WHEDco hubs throughout the city Review daily reports and timelines for completion of all applications Document reviews of criminal history, sex offenders registry and SCR clearance for all applicants Complete comparative reviews of provider files and data entry Assist director in planning and scheduling all program activities Work with director on evaluation and assessment of program effectiveness Provide support to director with program reports and billing Provide support to director with staff reviews and staff development All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Development, Education, Social Services or related field Candidate must have at least a year’s experience serving in a supervisory capacity Candidate must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented Excellent must have excellent written and oral communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access a must Bilingual English / Spanish is desirable
