The Homeownership Associate is primarily responsible for evaluating homebuyer applicants, including performing mortgage underwriting and assisting families with the home purchase process. This position is also assists with identifying Habitat homeowner families through various community outreach efforts. This position reports to our Homeownership Manager and is a full time position; including some evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities:
Manage homebuyer selection process, including intake and review of applications Underwrite applications to State of New York Mortgage Agency standards Manage homeowner education process Assist with homeowner outreach and communications efforts Coordinate volunteer committee involvement in homebuyer selection process Establish and maintain homebuyer records and provide accurate data and reports

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BS with a minimum of 2 years work experience; 1 year mortgage underwriting experience preferable Previous mortgage counseling and affordable housing experience a plus Fluent Spanish speaker and writer preferred Public speaking Strong project management skills (ability to multi-task) Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Preferred:
Fluent Spanish speaker and writer preferred
