Development Research Specialist (HEOa) - 400892 Job ID: 6539 Location: Kingsborough Community College GENERAL DUTIES Under the direction of the Executive Director of Development, the Researcher will identify and profile possible sources to provide private support for College fundraising efforts and support College fundraising strategies and objectives

- Identifies, evaluates and tracks college's top donors and prospects - Reports on giving trends, responding to inquiries and preparing concise summaries of giving trends of individuals, corporations, and foundations - Coordinates prospect and alumni research and tracking - Updates research and donor databases as needed - Prepares briefing reports and recommends appropriate fundraising and solicitation strategies. - Performs related duties as assigned.

CONTRACT TITLE Higher Education Assistant

FLSA Exempt

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION - Prepares briefing reports and recommends appropriate fundraising and solicitation strategies. - Participates in drafting funding proposals and pre-and post-solicitation materials - Provides training to development staff - Conceptualizes and plans campus cultivation visits and participates in special event fundraisers to cultivate gift prospects. - Manages major gifts donor acknowledgment, recognition, and stewardship. - Provides support for fundraising activities and events and other aspects of the Department - Some evening/weekend work required. - Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Experience with emphasis on community college a plus. Successful experience in fundraising; experience in major gift fundraising, preferably in a higher educational institution environment. Demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities, as well as the ability to develop and implement short- and long-term goals and plans as well as develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures. Must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time. Must be deadline, detail and budget oriented, highly motivated, and demonstrate steadfast initiative. A strong knowledge of Wealth Screening Software and best practices, Raisers Edge Software, MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and website design preferred. Knowledge of segmentation, development writing, solicitation material design and database management a must.. Experience in identifying qualifying, soliciting, and stewarding individual, corporate, and foundation prospects.

COMPENSATION $42,873-$51,195, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
