The Center for Popular Democracy (CPD) is seeking a full-time Operations Assistant. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping, human resources, or facilities management. Candidates should be committed to social and economic justice, and to fostering democratic participation from organized communities. This position requires full-time attendance at the office. The Operations Assistant reports to the Director of Operations and Finance, and assists in the following areas:
Finance & Compliance: Includes payment and invoice processing and reconciliation of expenses, and assisting the Director of Operations and Finance in ensuring that lobbying reports, IRS filings, and other state or city registrations are current.
Facilities: Includes reception duties, oversight of office supplies and physical plant.
Human Resources & Benefits Administration: Includes assistance in payroll processing and time tracking, and maintenance of employment files, including W4s and benefits enrollment.
Technology: Troubleshooting office IT issues and serving as a liaison for CPD's IT consultants. Assisting with office database management and data entry.
Senior Staff support: Will assist with arranging meetings, making travel arrangements, filing reimbursements, mailings, and other errands/tasks for Senior Staff.
We are seeking candidates who have:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative role, non- profit experience a plus;
Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional manner;
Precision and a detail-oriented approach;
Organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook; as well as a willingness to learn M-files, Navision, Salesforce, and other computer programs;
Flexibility, self- drive, and motivation.
