JOB OVERVIEW Single Stop USA seeks to hire a Junior Program Associate - Development to work with the Vice President of Development and the Development team to implement a strategic development plan that includes emphasis on both public and private sources. Our development plan is also tightly linked with our policy and communications work. The Junior Program Associate - Development will play a crucial role in Single Stop's development department, and must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team. Candidates must possess superior communications skills, and be able to think critically about the way Single Stop manages external communications, donor correspondence, and development systems.

Salary will be commensurate with experience and previous compensation.

Writing and Communications
*Produce and contribute to high-quality written communication for funders at all stages of the development process, including grant proposals for government, foundation and corporate prospects; mid-year reports; letters about Single Stop’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities; thank you correspondence; regional marketing materials; newsletters and personalized donor touch points, and collaborating on general communications for donors and partners (individual, corporate, and foundation)
*Coordinate mailings of these written communications to donors in partnership with the Vice President of Development and CEO
*Compile data and supplementary materials (such as financial reports, regional impact and community need statistics, and Single Stop success stories) for future communications
*Proofread, edit, and compose written communications, including website, for an external audience

*Manage the deadline-driven calendar of all development writing projects related to government, corporations, and foundations, including researching and logging grant guidelines and due dates, submitting all grant materials on time, and following up as necessary with Single Stop staff
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and data on grants and sources
*Contribute to developing and managing new development systems (filing, internal communications, calendars)
*Coordinate, schedule and help prepare for meetings with donors (develop agendas, create targeted presentations, coordinate site visits)
*Manage development contact database

*Collaborate on regional development projects with Single Stop staff as needed
*Other responsibilities determined by organizational need


*Commitment to and passion for the mission and values of Single Stop USA, and the challenge of helping Single Stop grow to achieve maximum impact
*Bachelor’s degree is required
*1-3 years of experience in non-profit development, communications, public relations or some combination of these preferred
*Superior writing, editing, and critical thinking skills
*Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, to effectively work with a variety of people and personalities
*Experience using Fund-EZ and/or other development software
*Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
*Start-up experience preferred
