Vice President of Programs


Description
The Vice President of Programs is a member of the senior management team that drives the overall strategy and management of the organization. This not for profit organization has a budget approaching 3 million and a full-time staff of 45+ diverse individuals. The Vice President of Programs will lead all program management and supervision, new program development and oversight, program integration, and will be responsible for the agency meeting all program goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include: Lead efforts to ensure optimal program integration including the integration of new programs with existing programs.Enhance, drive, and implement organizational vision as established in the Strategic Plan. Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence. Recommend timeline and resources needed to achieve program goals. Develop, coach, provide regular one on one supervisory meetings and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance.Work with staff to develop systems to ensure consistent, high-quality project management. Ensure that key project outcomes are evaluated and leveraged for maximum community and organizational impact.Manage relationships with public, private, community, and non-profit partners.

Program Development: Lead in the development, conceptualization, and execution of program initiatives and enhancements. Liaise with public, private, community, and non- profit partners.Build team to lead new initiatives, and fuel integration of new initiatives with existing initiatives. Provide leadership in development of inter-team communication and cohesiveness, sustaining culture and supporting staff during organizational growth.

Program Leadership and Management: This individual will have taken a hands-on approach in leading a variety of initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a track record of effectively leading a performance-based and outcome-based program and staff. TheVice President of Programs will have developed operational strategies that have taken a program or organization to the next stage of growth.

Team Building and Development: The successful candidate will have recruited, managed, and developed a strong team of staff and program/project managers.

Qualifications:
Exceptional Communication and Influencing Skills:

The Vice President of Programs will have strong written and verbal communication skills. S/he will be a persuasive, credible and an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills. This individual must work collaboratively with internal as well as external partners and other organizations. An individual who is able to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities. Strong work ethic with a sense of humor.

Preferred:
Masters degree or higher with at least 10 years of management experience. Unwavered commitment to quality programs and excellence in organizational and project management with the ability to achieve strategic objectives.Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people. Integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with a demonstrated passion for the company's mission and commitment to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals.
