Farm Consultant

Description
The Intervale Green Rooftop Farm Consultant will oversee and support the community garden. Activities include the following: 1)Planting and maintaining a rooftop community garden 2)Keeping open rooftop farm hours, and overseeing tenant activity within the garden 3)Recording how produce is distributed 4)In conjunction with WHEDco's Healthy Living Coordinator, providing technical expertise and support to tenants involved in community farming and individual family gardens 5)Working with WHEDco's Healthy Living Coordinator in the provision of cooking demonstrations and related education to tenants 6)Supporting the marketing of, and elevating the general awareness of rooftop farms 7)Overseeing and maintaining the Intervale Green Urban Farm Blog 8)Completing a report at the end of the growing season

Qualifications:

•Demonstrated farming ability and experience with implementing urban farms
•Familiarity with affordable housing development in New York City
•Commitment to the issues facing low-income families
•Demonstrated enthusiasm and entrepreneurial approach
