Thorpe Family Residence, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization which provides emergency shelter and housing for the homeless. We are looking for a bilingual case manager to assist formerly homeless families in our 20 unit supportive housing facility to transition to independent living.

Responsibilities:

•Assist residents in identifying and obtaining basic skills and services needed for independent living.
•Scheduling client appointments and serving as a client advocate in obtaining services.
•Create individual action plans and evaluate progress while maintaining case notes and reports.
•Collaborate closely with our small team of employees and volunteers.

Qualifications:

•Bilingual in English and Spanish.
•BA degree in social work or related field. Those with MSW or MSW candidates are encouraged to apply.
•Good critical thinking skills and initiative.
•Experience working with diverse populations.

Preferred:

•Knowledge of NYC social service delivery system preferred but not required.

Working hours are flexible and PT is possible; excellent health benefits are available for FT.
