The Murphy Institute at The CUNY School of Professional Studies is delighted to announce the launch of their new Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Community Studies (B.A.). The B.A. in Urban and Community Studies marks the Murphy Institute’s first undergraduate degree, and joins their graduate and certificate programs that cater to working adults and union members. Student of this program will take courses on a convenient schedule, pay the affordable CUNY tuition rate and have the opportunity to:

Learn how cities evolve, govern themselves, distribute services, and serve and employ the public Examine race, class, gender, ethnicity, immigration and sexual orientation in modern cities Develop the necessary skills to participate in city agency operations Use New York City as a setting for fieldwork and workplace based projects Elect a concentration in Urban Studies, Community Studies or Labor Studies

The B.A. in Urban and Community Studies prepares students for careers in:

Government Agencies Labor Organizations Business and Budgeting Community Service Urban Planning and Design Law Education Non-Profit and Academic Institutions

May 22, June 6, June 25, July 10, July 22, August 1

All Information Sessions are scheduled from 6 to 8pm, and will be held at the Murphy Institute at 25 West 43rd Street, 18th Floor in NYC.
