Tackling Poverty: The History of Poverty and Homelessness in New York City

Presented by City Limits and the Institute for Children, Poverty, and Homelessness

Description:
Conditions that perpetuate homelessness and poverty today have deep roots in America's past. Our final Tackling Poverty conversation will explore the themes of the book, "The Poor Among Us: A History of Family Poverty and Homelessness in New York City". The discussion will examine the successes and failures of past efforts to reduce poverty and the lessons we can learn for today's efforts to aid impoverished families.
