Michael Hicks
Michael Hicks is a freelance photojournalist based out of Brooklyn, NY specializing in editorial news assignments and long-term documentary projects. His work focuses on issues foreign and domestic. He feels that reportage of ever changing social issues can provoke thought in the individual. He holds a B.S. from Drexel University having studied Photography and Anthropology. After college he spent six years of his career split between freelance and full-time assisting for photographers such as Harvey Lloyd and James Nachtwey. Their knowledge and integrity have made a lasting impression on his work. Pondering the chaotic order of life has led to a desire to understand nature and human co-existence through photography. www.mhicksphoto.com
