Ken Inadomi

Image of Ken Inadomi

Ken Inadomi is executive director of the New York Mortgage Coalition (NYMC), a non-profit collaboration of financial institutions and community housing agencies that helps low- to moderate-income New York area families become first-time homebuyers through workshops and one-on-one counseling. With the wave of foreclosures gripping the city, NYMC now also supports foreclosure prevention initiatives and neighborhood stabilization. NYMC provides financial counseling to nearly 3,000 low- to moderate-income families annually, while originating $100 million in affordable mortgages.  After three decades in the private sector, Ken assumed his current position in 2008.  His corporate experience includes executive positions in sales, marketing and management at HBO, Warner-Amex, and Time Inc. as well as several entrepreneurial and turnaround successes involving startups, leveraged buyouts and private partnerships, including CIS-Consolidated Information Services, a virtual firm providing online credit, mortgage, and real estate data -- where Ken is board chair and majority owner.

Articles, Investigations and Blogs

The city allows private companies to collect on overdue water and property tax charges. It's a sensible way to maximize public revenue, says this author, but it comes with dangers for vulnerable homeowners.
