Dr. Alexandra Cox is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at SUNY-New Paltz. She is a former Soros Justice Advocacy Fellow who has spent over three years conducting research inside of New York’s juvenile justice system. She previously worked as a social worker at the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, a criminal defense agency, and as a researcher at the Drug Policy Alliance. She received her doctorate at the University of Cambridge, where she was a Gates Cambridge scholar, and her Bachelor’s degree from Yale University.
